Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits | Dog Groomer Morayfield

Treats from Your Local Morayfield Dog Groomer

During the 2025 Christmas period, I wanted to do something special to thank the wonderful clients who trust me with their dogs. Instead of store-bought treats, I made these homemade peanut butter dog biscuits as a festive gift for my grooming clients here in Morayfield.

They’re simple, wholesome, and made with carefully chosen ingredients; just like the calm, thoughtful care I aim to provide in my home-based grooming salon. If you’re a local dog owner looking for an easy, safe treat recipe, this one is a favourite.

Why Ingredient Choice Matters for Dog Treats

As a dog groomer, I see firsthand how much diet, skin, and coat health are connected. That’s why I’m always careful about what goes into anything I give to my clients’ dogs, including treats.

When making these biscuits, it’s essential to use 100% natural peanut butter only. Always check the label and avoid products with added sugar, salt, oils, or sweeteners. Some peanut butters contain xylitol, which is extremely toxic to dogs.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups traditional rolled oats

  • ½ cup 100% natural peanut butter

  • 1 overripe banana, peeled

  • 1 egg

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced) and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Place the rolled oats into a food processor and blend until they form a fine, flour-like texture.

  3. Add the peanut butter, banana and egg and blend until a thick dough forms.

  4. Turn the dough out onto a clean surface or baking paper. The dough will be quite firm, so it’s often easier to work with smaller portions at a time. Lightly knead and roll out to your desired thickness. If the dough feels sticky, place it between two sheets of baking paper before rolling. Use a cute cookie cutter around 3–4 cm in size to cut out the biscuits.

  5. Place the biscuits onto the prepared tray and bake for around 15 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

  6. Allow the biscuits to cool completely before serving.

How to Store Homemade Dog Biscuits

Once cooled, store the biscuits in an airtight container. They will keep well for up to 3–4 weeks. You can also freeze them and defrost small amounts as needed.

Homemade Treats & Gentle Grooming Go Hand in Hand

Whether it’s grooming or treats, I believe dogs deserve calm, thoughtful care. These biscuits were a small way to show appreciation to my Morayfield grooming clients during the 2025 Christmas period, and they were a hit with the pups!

If you’re local and looking for a gentle, one-on-one dog groomer in Morayfield, you’ll find the same level of care goes into every appointment.
